Barnsley to open season at home to Middlesbrough

BARNSLEY will open the 2012-13 Championship campaign by welcoming Middlesbrough to Oakwell.

The Reds will host Tony Mowbray’s men on Saturday, August 18 and will visit Wolverhampton Wanderers for their first away game on Tuesday, August 21.

There will be derby matches aplenty for the Tykes next season. They’ll visit Leeds United on Saturday, October 6 and the return match at Oakwell will be on Saturday, January 12.

Matches against South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday will take place on Saturday, December 15 at Oakwell and Saturday, March 30 at Hillsborough.

The Reds will host Huddersfield Town on Saturday, November 10 and will visit the Galpharm Stadium on the final day of the season on Saturday, May 4.

Boxing Day will see the Reds welcome Birmingham City to Oakwell and a trip to Peterborough United will kick-off 2013 on New Year’s Day.
