Barnsley sign former Coventry defender Martin Cranie
BARNSLEY have completed the signing of defender Martin Cranie.
The former Coventry City man has penned a one-year deal at Oakwell and is expected to go straight in to Keith Hill’s squad to face Wolves tomorrow night.
The 25-year-old had been on-trial with Leeds United over the summer but opted for a move to the Reds after United failed to guarantee him a contract at Elland Road.
The versatile stopper came through the youth ranks at Southampton and played for England U21s. He ended up at Coventry following an unsuccessful stint at Portsmouth and made 114 appearances for the Sky Blues.
