Featherstone Rovers pair James Mendeika and Andy Bostock are both making excellent progress after surgery.

Bostock (hip operation) is set to resume full training later this week and Mendeika (knee operation) is likely to be back in full training at the end of next month.

Rovers coach Andy Hay said: “Bostock and Mendeika are both flying.

“This Sunday’s game against York City Knights is probably a week too early for Bostock.

“If it was next week I think he’d probably be on the bench. He will be back in full training at the end of the week with everyone else.

“Mendeika is coming on massively.

“He is now straight line running on the field and up to full speed.

“He’s got to throw in a change of direction in the next few weeks and then hopefully we can see him back in training.

“It will probably be the end of February before we see him back in full training and ready to play.”
