FRICKLEY Colliery’s thrilling tie at Monk Bretton was one of only two Pontefract and District Cricket League Division One games to survive last weekend’s wash-out.

Frickley were hoping to put the opening day defeat at Old Sharlston behind them and in an entertaining game, the visitors came away with a share of the points after both sides posted 182-7.

Steve Honeyman was the man of the match for Colliery as he put pressure on the Bretton innings with impressive bowling figures of 4-34.

Christopher Saynor’s unbeaten 79 and Luke Ogden’s 47 were the highlights for the hosts.

Honeyman then stood resolutely at the crease to hit 59 not out and earn Frickley eight points.

Nostell’s home game against Featherstone was postponed.
