HEMSWORTH MW started life without Wayne Benn with a 3-1 victory over Bottesford Town at the MDC Sports Stadium on Tuesday night.

Daryl Bowman took temporary charge of the team following Benn’s departure to Goole AFC on Monday and he secured three points at the first time of asking.

Goals from Ross Haywood and Jack Wakefield gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at half-time and Neil Towler made it 3-0 shortly after the resumption.

Bottesford pulled a goal back through Gareth Campion with 15 minutes to go but Hemsworth held on for the three Northern Counties East League Division One points.

Welfare have started their search for Benn’s successor.

Anyone interested in the job can send their CV and cover letter to the club secretary Phil Crapper at 40 Richmond Road, Upton, WF9 1HP or by e-mail at beefy1986@hotmail.co.uk. Deadline for applications is Monday.
