Hemsworth MW chalked up one of their biggest wins of the season last night as they returned from Rossington Main with a 4-1 victory in Northern Counties East League Division 1.

Welfare were dominant throughout against lowly Main to secure back-to-back away victories for the first time this season.

The MDC Sports Stadium club went into the game on the back of a 2-0 win at Bottesford Town, thanks to goals from Iwan Heeley and Neil Towler, and both of Saturday’s goalscorers got on the scoresheet again at Rossington.

Sam Varley opened the scoring for Hemsworth on the half-hour mark before Towler doubled the advantage eight minutes later.

Heeley got his first goal with 20 minutes to go and added a fourth in the 85th minute.

Scott Maughan grabbed a late consolation goal for the hosts but it was not enough to damped a good day at the office for Daryl Bowman and his men.
