CASTLEFORD'S 19-year-old winger Ben Blackmore has joined Huddersfield Giants on a one-year contract.
The six foot two inch youngster, who has made one Super League appearance for the Tigers, said: "This is a great opportunity for me at a big Super League Club. It is a club that gives youth players a chance to progress and I also know a few of the lads here. I can’t wait for off-season training to begin in November where I will be looking for a big start and trying to make an impression. There is a great squad at the Giants and I’m looking forward working hard and learning from the players and coaching staff here."
Giants coach Paul Anderson said: "“Ben is physically very promising with good speed.
“He is tall and has a good frame that with full time training will fill out nicely to be able to play comfortably just below the 100kg mark. He is very hungry to grab the opportunity we are giving him and alongside Matty Dawson will really challenge the more established outside backs here at the club next year. It was self evident to anyone who saw him in the 20s against us that he is a raw naturally talented player who frankly excites me as to what we may be able to make of him.”
