FRICKLEY Athletic boss Karl Rose will be hoping a New Year brings better fortunes for his side on their travels as the Blues search for a first away league win of the season at Whitby Town on New Year’s Day (kick-off 3pm).

The South Elmsall side have an impressive record at their Westfield Lane home base having lost just one of their last ten home matches - but are yet to collect a point away from home.

Frickley have lost all nine of their league matches on their travels, altough they have won twice in cup competitions, and will be aiming to get that monkey firmly off their backs at the seaside on Tuesday.

Town trail the Blues by a point in the Evo-Stik Premier Division but are unbeaten in their four matches in December, winning two and drawing two.

Rose’s men go into the contest on the back of a 2-1 victory over Kendal Town on Saturday.
