FRICKLEY Athletic fans are being invited to an open meeting at the club’s Tech5 Stadium base this Sunday.
Supporters will get the chance to ask questions to members of the Blues board about the running of the club from 1pm at Westfield Lane.
Fans are also being sought to help out as volunteers for the Evo-Stik Premier League club.
The meeting comes hot-on-the-heels of the announcement that Frickley’s playing budget has been cut in light of a recent shortfall in income.
A club statement read: “Although lack of finance is a problem, not only for Frickley Athletic but for many clubs both at league and non-league level, it is probably not Frickley’s largest problem.
“This, arguably, is the lack of people to carry out the many jobs and tasks that need carrying out to run a club.”
It continued: “Many of the ideas and suggestions that have been mentioned either on the club’s internet forum or to individuals, both recently and in the past, are perfectly valid suggestions either for fundraising or to improve marketing the club or both.
“However, with just a handful of people carrying out multiple jobs already just to keep the club running at all it is impossible for the same people to find the time and effort to do the extra things that we would like to do.”
Just one new person attended a recent volunteers meeting and the club is looking for more new faces to come forward and help the club on matchdays.
