Freescoring Town set for top-four finish

HEMSWORTH Town seem certain of a top-four finish in Division 1 of the Doncaster Senior League after a 6-1 victory at Woodlands Rhinos.

Jamie Allen got a brace for Town, while Michael Humberstone, Paul Green, John Probert and James Davidson also got on the scoresheet.

A double strike from Michael Crooks set Ackworth United off on the way to a 3-1 victory over Edlington Rangers in midweek, Stuart Gordon adding the other one.

Hemsworth MW followed up a 2-2 draw with FC Tavern in midweek by sharing the spoils 5-5 in their derby with Upton Brookside.

Travellers FC lost 3-2 when they entertained Bramley Sunnyside.

There was no joy for South Kirkby Colliery B who slumped to an 18-0 defeat at Hatfield Main.

An own goal led to Kinsley Boys being held 2-2 by Sutton Rovers in the Premier Division.

Liam Bean and Adam Cameron were the Boys marksmen.

Kinsley entertain AFC Sportsman Rovers next Tuesday, kick-off 6.30pm, meet 5.15pm.

South Elmsall United Services had mixed fortunes. Ryan Hardy was on target in a 1-1 home draw with Rossington Main in midweek before Services went down 6-0 when they entertained Swinton Station Athletic.

South Kirkby Colliery A were pipped 3-2 at Maltby MW.

Colliery entertain AFC Sportsman Rovers on Thursday, kick-off 7.30pm, and host Bawtry Town this Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.
