HEMSWORTH MW manager Wayne Benn is hoping to have a new striker in his squad for Saturday’s derby game against Glass Houghton Welfare.

Welfare are short on numbers in attack due to injuries and suspensions and Benn has targeted a short-term loan addition to solve his striking problems.

The Hemsworth boss wouldn’t reveal the name of his target but did reveal he currently plays for Evo-Stik Division 1 North side Ossett Town.

“I don’t want to say who it is just yet in case it doesn’t go through,” said Benn.

“We’re hopeful he’ll be here in time for Saturday though and he’s playing at Ossett Town. It’ll only be a short-term thing while we get other players back available.”

Ryan Pleasants is still a couple of weeks away from returning to action from injury while Damion Liddle is serving a suspension for the next two games.
