Frickley Athletic continue their hectic schedule with home and away games in the next week as they look to climb to mid-table safety in the Evo-Stik Premier League.
With Saturday and midweek games each week throughout March it looks like this month is going to be crucial for the Blues’ hopes and it will test the strength of the squad and the players’ fitness.
They were without several players for the midweek trip to Barwell, but will be hoping to have top scorer Gavin Allott back along with goalkeeper Ben Simpson and Matt Young when they are back at home on Saturday, taking on Nantwich Town (kick-off 3pm).
The Blues will be looking to avenge a 3-2 defeat in the away game when beaten by an injury-time goal after Allott and Macauley Parkinson scored.
They will see it as a key game with Nantwich just one point and two places ahead of them after last weekend’s matches.
Next Tuesday the Blues are away to Ashton United (7.45pm) and again are looking to overturn an earlier defeat after they were beaten 3-1 in November in the first meeting between the teams. A tough game can be expected with the hosts pushing for the championship.
