Frickley Athletic surrendered a two-goal lead and conceded a last-minute goal as they lost 3-2 at Evo-Stik Premier Division high fliers Skelmersdale United.

The Blues went into the game desperate for the win that would help them move away from the wrong end of the division.

A first-half brace from Gavin Allott put them on the road to a welcome victory and although the hosts hit back through Kevin Leadbetter’s penalty on 51 minutes, Athletic remained in control until an agonising final five minutes.

Substitute Adam Morning fired home to equalise on 85 minutes before Leadbetter curled home the winner in the final minute.
