Frickley athletic have been given a boost with news that top scorer Gavin Allott has signed a new one-year contract at Westfield Lane.
Supporters player of the year Allott has become a key player for the Blues, having scored 64 goals for the club in his two seasons with them, including 34 in the campaign just finished.
In effect it was his goals that have kept the club up and he is now Athletic’s joint eighth highest scorer in a season – level with Andy Hayward who managed the same total twice.
Blues officials have said that manager Karl Rose is now in discussions with the club’s three other contracted players whose deals expired after the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup final.
He is also believed to be talking to a number of non-contract players, who he hopes to retain, and a number of other summer targets as the preparations for another Premier season can now begin in earnest.
