Frickley Athletic continued their excellent form in the Evo-Stik Premier League with Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over second-placed Darlington at Westfield Lane

The Blues, playing their fifth game in 11 days, recovered from 1-0 down at half-time to topple Darlington in front of a crowd of 740.

It was Frickley’s third consecutive victory, all of them at home.

Darlington took a 31st minute lead through Graeme Armstrong but Athletic bounced back in the second-half.

Tyler Williams put the home side level with a superb strike in the 53rd minute.

Tom Davie’s 72nd minute goal put the Blues ahead and they sealed victory when Jake Hazel found the net seven minutes from time.

Frickley visit Hallam FC in the Sheffield and Hallam Senior Cup semi-finals this evening (Thursday, 7.45pm kick-off).

They then have two successive away league matches at Workington this Saturday and at Marine next Tuesday.
