Hemsworth MW recorded their first win of the season in some style when they beat Eccleshill United 4-0 in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League on Tuesday night.

Three first half goals put Welfare in charge as Nash Connolly, Bill Law and Jack Steers were on target.

Connolly struck again after the break.

Hemsworth went out of the FA Cup at the extra preliminary round stage last Saturday when they lost 2-1 at home to NCE Premier Division side Armthorpe Welfare.

The visitors took the lead in the 15th minute through David Buck and doubled their advantage when the same player struck again 11 minutes into the second half.

Law pulled a goal back for Welfare 10 minutes from time, but they were unable to score again to force a cup replay.

This Saturday Hemsworth are back in league action when they host newcomers Hull United, who have made a good start to this level of football with victories in their first two games (kick-off 3pm).

Welfare are also in action next Tuesday night when they travel to play Teversal, who are another likely to provide them with a stiff test as they have won their first two league games. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

There are a number of vacancies at Hemsworth MW that the club are looking to fill.

The Toolstation NCEL Division One need a club physio, club secretary, programme editor and volunteers to get involved on matchdays.
