Frickley Athletic have been given the news they were hoping for from the Football Association having been informed that they will stay in the top flight of the Evo-Stik League next season.

The Blues finished fourth from bottom in the last of the relegation spots, but have been handed a reprieve due to a team higher in the football pyramid, Vauxhall Motors, resigning.

Frickley still had to win their last game of the season away to top four side Worksop Town to earn enough points to earn the reprieve and their efforts in a 3-1 win saw them edge out Wingate & Finchley, from the Isthmian League, on goal difference to be the better placed side at step 3 in the pyramid.

Following last week’s FA Leagues Committee meeting the league allocations for 2014-15 were announced with the Blues again taking their place in the Evo-Stik Premier.

Coming down into the Evo-Stik Premier Division is Workington, from Conference North, while Belper Town, Curzon Ashton and Ramsbottom United are all promoted into the division. Corby Town move sideways from the Southern Premier League.

The full Evo-Stik Premier Division line-up is: Ashton United, Barwell, Belper Town, Blyth Spartans, Buxton, Corby Town, Curzon Ashton, FC United of Manchester, Frickley Athletic, Grantham Town, Ilkeston, Kings Lynn Town, Marine, Matlock Town, Nantwich Town, Ramsbottom United, Rushall Olympic, Skelmersdale United, Stamford, Trafford, Whitby Town, Witton Albion, Workington, Worksop Town.

The new season will kick-off on Saturday, August 16 with fixtures due out in mid-July.
