A first half hat-trick from Dom Blair helped Hemsworth MW to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they travelled to Winterton Rangers in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League on Tuesday night.
Bottom of the table Winterton were no match for Wayne Benn’s men who took charge straight from the off with Sam Jones netting just six minutes in.
Blair bagged his first nine minutes later and completed his hat-trick with further goals on 26 and 36 minutes to make it 4-0 by half-time.
That was how it stayed until the end as Winterton tightened up after the break, but the win kept Welfare in fifth place in the table.
Hemsworth suffered their first league loss of the season on Saturday when going down 2-0 to leaders AFC Mansfield.
After five straight victories Welfare began confidently, but two goals late in the first half from Joe Cheeseman and Phil Buxton left them with a mountain to climb and they were unable to close the gap.
This Saturday Hemsworth travel to play Shirebrook Town (3pm). They are also in action next Tuesday at home to Yorkshire Amateur (7.45pm).
