MOORTHORPE Rangers U16s secured the local bragging rights when they defeated South Elmsall United 5-1 to progress to the next round of the cup.
Kayne Thornton led the scoring with a brace, while Jay Hewitt, Declan Roberts and James Beaumont also got on the scoresheet.
Adam Arnold shone to take the man of the match honours.

There were mixed fortunes for Moorthorpe Rangers U7s in their two games against Crofton.
Kendall Howcroft scored both goals as Rangers won the first game 2-1.
But Crofton hit back with a 6-3 win in the second match. Eddie Anderson (2) and Headley-Paul Keegan grabbed the Moorthorpe goals. Kane Moran was man of the match.
Freescoring Moorthorpe Rangers U9s made light work of neighbours South Kirkby Colliery.
Dawson Stenton bagged a hat-trick as Rangers won the first game 9-0.
William Woollard (2), Logan Jones (2), Tyler Raikes and Spencer Howcroft also got on the scoresheet.
It was more of the same in the second game as Rangers ran out emphatic 10-1 winners.
Brandon Varley led the goal spree with four goals, while Howcroft netted a hat-trick and further strikes came from Jones, Woollard and Andrew Tweedle. Declan Clegg was man of the match.
The victories stretch Moorthorpe’s unbeaten run to a magnificent 21 games.
South Kirkby Knights U11s claimed another victory at the weekend when they overcame Mexborough Rangers 4-1.
Robbie Harris opened the scoring for Knights before Harry Woods, Ryan Buttler and man of the match Robbie Glennon rounded off the superb victory.
South Kirkby Knights U15s impressed in their 5-1 home victory over Bentley Pumas.
Brad Walker and Ryan Heeley chipped in with two goals apiece while Callum Stankovic completed the emphatic win.
In-form duo Lewis Needham and Callum Lucas were outstanding for Kirkby throughout.
Hemsworth Terriers are looking for new players for their Girls U13s and U16s sides this season.
