Featherstone Rovers have thanked fans who made the trek to London to support the team in Saturday’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup fourth round tie against London Broncos.
With sponsorship from MCE Installations, DS Smith Packaging, Foster’s and Dunning Plant Hire, Rovers provided subsidised coach travel to the game at Twickenham Stoop.
With other supporters travelling independently, more than 400 Rovers fans attended a game watched by 1,217 spectators.
Championship side Rovers were pipped 24-12 by their Super League opponents after leading 4-0 at half-time and being level at 8-8 mid-way through the second-half.
Rovers Chief Executive Craig Poskitt (pictured) said: “The support the team received was as usual superb and we would like to thank all the supporters who made the long journey to Twickenham Stoop. The players responded magnificently to put in a highly credible performance.
“The supporters were fantastic and well behaved and the support we received was complemented by the London Broncos club. We now must focus on our Kingstone Press Championship campaign starting with a huge game this weekend against Halifax RLFC.”
