THE Evo-Stik Premier Division will be restructured so only two sides, rather than four, will be relegated next season.

The announcement was made on Saturday night at the league’s annual meeting in Blackpool.

It’s part of a two-season plan which will see 24 teams competing in the 2013-14 campaign - an increase from 22 next season with four teams still being promoted from the feeder leagues.

Just one side will be relegated from each of the Division 1 competitions.

The members list was also announced at the meeting, with the Blues taking their place in the Premier Division after receiving a reprieve from relegation last term.

Northwich Victoria’s relegation due to breaking league rules helped Frickley retain their Premier Division place.

But Northwich will be one of two sides appealing against relegation - Darlington are the other club appealing their relegation down the leagues with the Football Association.

Northwich’s appeal will be heard next Thursday but the Evo-Stik League member list is expected to remain the same.

It was also revealed at the AGM that Evo-Stik would be taking up their option to extend their sponsorship of the Northern Premier League for another two years, with a year on their current deal still to run.
