Consistency is the key to top 8 finish for Castleford Tigers

Castleford Tigers boss Daryl Powell reckons the First Utility Super League season is set for more twists and turns as the battle for places in the top eight hots up.

Powell believes Castleford’s chances will depend on whether they can find some consistency from here on in with nine matches to play and it will be the same story for other teams in and around them in the Super League table,

He said: “I think there’s loads of time to go in the season.

“Just when you think you’re pulling away a little bit it closes up again.

“There’s teams that sit just outside the top eight that are winning games and looking dangerous, Widnes for example.

“I think we’ve just got to be a little bit more consistent and not worry too much about the top eight at the moment.

“It’s just about getting our form right, individual players playing well on a consistent basis and then the team playing well consistently. That’s what we’re searching for at the moment. It’s been a bit elusive, we just need to keep after it.”
