FRICKLEY Athletic’s five-game unbeaten home run in all competitions came to an end on Saturday with a 1-0 loss against Chasetown at the Tech5 Stadium.
Gary Birch’s 20th-minute strike proved enough to give the visitors all three points on a disappointing afternoon for Peter Rinkcavage and his men.
The Blues will have felt they deserved more from the game for their efforts as Ollie Ryan, James Ashmore and debutant Danny South all came close to finding the back of the net.
But Birch’s first-half strike, when he raised high to head home a Mark Branch cross, proved enough to give Chasetown the win and leave Athletic with no win in their last three games.
