He told the Express: “I thought generally Ash Robson played really well.

“His enthusiasm was great. He got some good play the balls, his footwork looked good and his enthusiasm to chase for the try he got was outstanding.

“He’s definitely someone I can use again in the first team. He showed he could handle the level, he took his opportunity well.

“Ash, alongside Will Maher, have both shown that they can play at Super League level and handle it really well.”

Powell explained that Robson normally plays at full-back in the under 19s, but showed he had good attributes to play on the wing.

He added: “He’s played more at full-back and played minimal on the wing, to be honest, but he slotted in there well.

“He had a run on the wing in the under 19s a few weeks back and I thought he looked sharp there, but he’s normally a full-back.

“Ill make the decision later in the week if he is to keep his place for this week, but he did his chances no harm.”
