Championship side Halifax have completed the signing of prop Ben Davies from Castleford Tigers.

Davies, who joined the Tigers on a short term contract in June, was restricted to just two appearances due to injury and left the club on Friday by mutual consent.

The 23-year-old initially signed for the Wigan Warriors as a 16-year-old from Leigh East before moving on to Widnes Vikings in 2012.

He joins Halifax for the remainder of the season.

Castleford confirmed that prop forward Steve Nash has also left the club by mutual consent and is believed to be interesting Dewsbury Rams.

Nash, who joined the Tigers from Leigh Centurions in 2011, made seven Super League appearances for Cas, but has not featured at all this season.
