FRICKLEY Athletic will look to put their name in the hat for the next round of the FA Cup when they travel to Garforth Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
The Blues enter the world-famous competition against lower-league opposition in Evo-Stik Division 1 North side Garforth.
But manager Peter Rinkcavage knows that the prestigious competition is all about upsets and isn’t counting his chickens just yet.
“We’re looking forward to it, the FA Cup offers a bit of magic even at this stage,” he said.
“I’ve had a few reports on Garforth and I know they’re a decent side.
“We’ll be going over there to win but we just want to get our name in that hat for the next round of the competition, whether that be through a win on Saturday or progressing through a replay back at our place.”
The Blues will have Grenada international David Cyrus available for selection.
The defender was scheduled to travel to St Vincent in the Caribbean for a World Cup qualifying game with Grenada but has instead opted to stay with the South Elmsall club in their opening FA Cup game.
But striker Peter Knox will be cup-tied for the clash after featuring for previous club Bridgwater Town in an earlier round.
