FRICKLEY Athletic came crashing back down to earth with a bang on Saturday as they fell to a 4-0 defeat at second-place Colwyn Bay.

The Welsh side dominated and scored goals at regular intervals as the Blues failed to kick-on from their impressive 3-0 victory over Nantwich Town in midweek.

Blues boss Peter Rinkcavage stuck with the same starting eleven but they were behind as early as the tenth minute when Daniel Grannon fired Bay ahead.

It was 2-0 13 minutes later when Fraser McLachlan got on the scoresheet, and Bay’s command was highlighted just before the interval when Alex Titchiner added their third.

The scoring was complete 12 minutes after the restart when Rob Hopley added Bay’s fourth to make for a long journey back to South Elmsall for the Blues.

The defeat leaves Frickley in the relegation places ahead of tomorrow night’s home clash against Bradford Park Avenue (kick-off 7.45pm).
