FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage will settle for no less than three points when his side visits Ossett Town in a ‘relegation six pointer’ tonight (kick-off 7.45pm), writes Nick Rigg.
The Blues are in the midst of a relegation battle in the Evo-Stik Premier Division after failing to win, and score, in their last four league matches.
Victory at Stade France against an Ossett side suffering similar bad fortunes will be vital in the Blues’ battle against the drop.
But Rinkcavage knows they’ll be in for a tough night against a Town side managed by former Frickley boss Phil Sharpe.
“I watched Ossett at Worksop (where they won 4-1) and they were superb,” said Rinkcavage.
“It’s going to be a tough game, but all games are going to be tough for us between now and the end of the season.”
He continued: “We’ll be going in to it looking for three points, as we do every game; it’s going to be a crucial night for us.”
It will be the first of two matches against Town in the space of three weeks, with the return fixture at the Tech5 Stadium scheduled for Saturday, February 26.
And the double-header could play a big role in whether Frickley find themselves playing Premier Division or Division 1 football next season.
