FRICKLEY Athletic boss Peter Rinkcavage is hoping to bolster his squad with new additions before tomorrow’s transfer deadline in the Evo-Stik Premier League.
Rinkcavage has confirmed to Express Sport that he’s aiming to bring “a couple” of new players in to add competition for places as the Blues battle against relegation from the Premier Division.
“We want to bring a couple of players in to help out,” he said.
“Nothing is finalised yet but we’re hopeful on bringing a young midfielder in from a local professional club and strengthening elsewhere.
“We only have until tomorrow to agree the deals so hopefully something can be done.”
The Blues face a proverbial relegation ‘six pointer’ against Mickleover Sports in Derbyshire on Saturday.
And Rinkcavage will be hoping his men can add some consistency to their performances and carry the momentum from a fine 1-0 win over Worksop Town on Tuesday night into the clash.
“I was really pleased with the result,” he said.
“It was a battling performance, it wasn’t one of the prettiest performances, but we got the job done against a very good Worksop side.
“Now we need to follow it on with a performance against Mickleover this weekend.
“We got a bit of a boost when we climbed out of the relegation places on Tuesday night but we’ll be back in them come the weekend because Hucknall and Whitby are playing each other and Mickleover are also playing.”
