Featherstone Rovers eased to their first pre-season win by trouncing York City Knights 62-6 in Sunday’s friendly at Pontefract RUFC.

After losing to Super League clubs Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Wildcats and fellow Championship outfit Batley Bulldogs, Rovers were far too good for Championship One outfit York.

Ben Blackmore scored four tries and Jack Ormondroyd, Kyran Johnson, Will Milner, Mason Tonks, Tim Spears, Paul Sykes and Will Sharp also crossed for Rovers who led 28-6 at half-time.
