Hemsworth mixed martial arts fighter Scott Askham has vowed to bounce back after losing his contest with Krzysztof Jotko in Dublin last Saturday.

Askham thought he had done enough for victory, but lost on a split decision, one judge giving him the victory, but two favouring Jotko by the narrowest of margins.

Askham did suffer a cut and found his opponent’s hit and run style awkward in the middleweight bout, but he was the aggressor for two of the three rounds.

Jotko had the first success, however, slamming Askham to the mat in the opening round and punishing him there, opening cuts which would go on to bleed profusely throughout the fight.

After the fight Askham said: “I thought I did enough. Maybe the blood made it look worse, I don’t know.

“I thought I performed well and did enough to get the win, but a lot of people are saying I was not myself. All I can do is watch it back when I get home and give my honest opinion, but for now I thought I was the winner when the final bell went! Sorry everyone I will be back.”
