WAKEFIELD Wildcats first team coach Paul Broadbent has issued an apology following an incident during Sunday’s 46-6 defeat against St Helens at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
Broadbent was involved in a heated conversation with a number of Wildcats supporters from the dugout as tempers flared in the heavy loss against Saints.
“I would like to apologise to the supporters who yesterday witnessed the incident and had to listen to the inappropriate language used.”
“I realise that we are a family game and having a young family myself, such language is not tolerated. If anything, I was protecting the players and I over stepped the mark. I have a responsibility to the club and its supporters to get the best out of the team on the field and I reacted to some negative comments aimed at individual players. In these difficult times we all need to be behind the team and supporting them.”
“Once again I apologise for my actions and the language I used.”
