FRICKLEY Athletic boss Billy Heath insists the loan market is a route he'll continue to use following Grant Normington's return to Grimsby Town.
The Blues have built up strong links with the League 2 side this season, with no less than three Town players making the temporary switch to the UniBond League side so far.

Defender Grant Normington, the first to make the move, returned to Blundell Park with Heath's best wishes following Frickley's 3-1 defeat at Bradford Park Avenue at the weekend.

The Blues boss was keen to keep the utility man at the Tech5 Stadium beyond his one-month spell.

But it wasn't to be, with new Mariners boss Neil Woods wanting the youngster back at the League 2 club.

But Heath inists Blues fans could well see Normington return to Westfield Lane in the near future, as Frickley look to continue using the loan market to bolster his squad.

"Grant's gone back to Grimsby now, Neil Woods has got the (manager's) job there now and he wants him back," he said.

"He was fantastic for us and we'd have liked to keep him here but it's great that he's in with a shout at Grimsby now.

"He enjoyed his time here and we'd gladly take him back in the future but hopefully for Grant he can be involved with the first team there."

Tom Corner is the latest Grimsby player to make the switch to Frickley, on work experience, while Matthew Bird is also on loan at the club.

And Heath is happy to continue down the route of improving his squad through loan deals.

He said: "It's a road that we've enjoyed using this season and we'll continue to do so.

"We know the score in that the players are likely to return after a month but it's a win-win situation in that we get a quality player and we give them some valuable experience."
