SOUTH ELMSALL SPIRITUALIST CHURCH: The speakers this weekend are Celia and Albert Cullum on the Saturday and Margaret Sharp on the Sunday, both meetings starting at 6.30pm. There will be a special meeting on Wednesday, September 15, when the speaker will be David Sinclair – £2 door charge.

ST MARY'S CHURCH: A coffee morning in aid of the Prince of Wales hospice will be held in the church hall on Saturday, September,19, 10am-noon. A harvest 'sealed and silent' auction will be held in the church
hall on Saturday, September 26, with dancing starting at 7.30pm. Tickets, at £5 per person, inclusive of buffet (bring your own bottle) can be reserved on 01977 642635 before September 20.

VOX: The next meting of the VOX group will be held in the All Saints community hall, South Kirkby, on Thursday, September 17, at 6.30pm. All members are requested to attend as proposals for the future structure of the group are to be discussed.

FRICKLEY COUNTRYPARK –ACCESS FOR THE DISABLED: The access to the park is via a series of 'kissing gates' designed to prevent the unauthorised entry of vehicles. These can be unlocked by use of a RADAR key, ie, a normal key issued under the administration of RADAR, The Royal Association For Disability and Rehabilitation, to allow access for wheelchair and scooter users. The keys, costing £2 -£3, can be purchased from the customer services desk in the Ridings shopping centre, Wakefield or via DIAL, Disability Information Advice Line, by calling 01977 723933/34.

SESKU BOXING ACADEMY: The academy is holding a concert night at the Diamond Jubilee Club in South Kirkby on Friday, September 18, starting at 7pm. There will be a five band line-up and a grand raffle of various
prizes.

HERITAGE WEEKEND: This weekend sites run by English Heritage will be open free – these include Brodsworth Hall, Nostell Priory, Pontefract Castle and Pontefract Castle Magazine and Pontefract Racecourse, but
there are many more.
