Six energetic little girls have raised more than £1,000 to help the girls involved in the M62 crash.

Lucie Savage and Naimh Allen, both six, swam 80m to help raise cash, and their friends Chloe Manuel, Ella Stones, Macy McDonaugh and Elise Reay, all also six, walked three miles around Pontefract Park.

They raised a total of £1,237 for Beth’s Angels fund.

The girls, who all attend Ash Grove J&I school, handed the cash to Bethany Jones’ cousin, Mark Larkin, on last Thursday, at The Barnsley Oak pub, South Elmsall.

Lucie’s mum, Kerry Bradley, organised the events and said everyone was really proud of the girls.
