ENERGETIC youngsters took part in a streetdance class as part of their studies learning about the area in which they live.
Around 80 children from Moorthorpe Primary J&I foundation stage enjoyed learning new moves in a dance class taught by dancer Clare Kane, who runs the Sugar Kane Dance School, based in South Elmsall.
She taught three classes throughout the day, which took part earlier this month. As part of their studies, the children had been learning all about South Elmsall and the shops and organisations that make it what it is.
Teacher Emma Jackson said a lot of the children already attended dance classes run by the dance school and thought it would be great if all the children tried it.
She said: “It was a fantastic day, they all loved it. One boy who didn’t initially want to take part told me he really enjoyed it.”
Some of the youngsters have since started going to the dance school.
As part of their studies they visited a post office and sent a letter home and are also set to visit Lloyds TSB Bank to count money.
