BEING dropped off at your school prom in a troop carrier might not be the traditional way to do things.

But year 6 leavers at All Saints School, on Clayton Lane, felt it added to the glamour and excitement of last Wednesday’s event.

The youngsters were picked up in a military vehicle and taken on a two-hour tank experience courtesy of Yorkshire provider Ultimate Tracks.

They were then dropped off back at the school in their finest attire for a disco.

Local singer Donna Moody performed for the children.

Cheryl Young, of the PTA, said the children had a fantastic day.

She said: “On other occasions it has been a limousine, but because there were eight boys and just two girls we wanted to do something different.

“The girls were really good and agreed to do it and everyone had a great time.”
