A team from Wakefield Council has been honoured at the Yorkshire PA of the Year Awards.

The council won the best internal PA network title at the event held at The Pavilion, Leeds United’s football ground.

The PA team was commended for its commitment to sharing learning and knowledge across the organisation.

The judges said: “Wakefield Council showcase the strengths and successes of creating a collaborative team who work well together in work and have built up a good relationship through their internal network. They have focused their group on sharing information and best practice while promoting consistency in processes and also made suggestions for productivity savings. Most importantly, the team have found the internal network has helped them to ‘understand the bigger picture’ of their organisation which has left them feeling confident and empowered to contribute towards the decisions made.”

Marion Lowrence, director of awards organisers The PA Hub, said: “We were really overwhelmed by the phenomenal calibre of entries this year. Yorkshire businesses truly are very lucky to have such a highly motivated, ambitious network of assistants taking the reins and helping to take them forward.”
