A new care home for the elderly will create more than 50 jobs in South Elmsall.

New Haven care home, which will house 50 residents, was officially opened by Mayor of South Elmsall, Coun Peter Jordan last month.

Family business, Rex Develop Ltd, own and operate the state-of-the-art home, on Westfield Lane.

Shaun Dryden, managing director, said: “We hope to create around 50 to 60 jobs within the home and we will be recruiting locally.

“Being a family company we like to keep things local therefore we are already using many local suppliers for food and various other goods as we like to keep things within the local community.”

The company, which also owns a care home in Huddersfield, has built the South Elmsall facility to cater for the frail, elderly and those with and without Alzheimer’s, dementia, cancer and Parkinson’s disease.
