A CYCLIST died after she was in collision with a car on a South Hiendley road.

Floral tributes have been left at the site where the 36-year-old woman was in collision with a Ford Focus.

Police are appealing for information on the incident, which took place on Slack Lane, at the junction with Church Lane, on Friday afternoon at around 3.30pm.

Police have identified the cyclist as Maria Micklethwaite, of Carlton, Barnsley.

An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned for further investigations at Barnsley Coroners’ Court on Tuesday.
