Thieves steal nearly 1,000 pairs of Puma trainers from parked lorry

Thieves stole nearly 1,000 pairs of Puma trainers after targeting a parked lorry.

The mass theft of sports trainers inside the lorry, which was parked on Lock Lane, Castleford, happened some time in the early hours of the morning today (Friday).

Around 800 pairs of Puma 'Kilter' size-four training shoes were stolen in the theft.

Inspector Paul Sullivan, of the East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "This is a significant number of trainers that were stolen.  

"We would like to hear from anyone who noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area last night." 

We also appeal to anyone offered items of this description for sale to be suspicious and contact police immediately." 

Anyone with any information about the incident or anyone who is offered similar items for sale is asked to contact Wakefield East NPT, via 101, quoting crime reference 13160727375.
