LAST Thursday evening my eldest son was riding his cycle along Cow Lane in Havercroft when he collided with the drivers’ door of a parked car near to a Chinese takeaway.
As a result he was thrown over the drivers’ door into the carriageway. He received a serious gash to his left shoulder and other injuries which involved him being taken to Barnsley Hospital where his injuries were tended to. He has now been discharged.
Two motorists stopped at the scene to help and also two ladies, one of whom took the trouble to ring my house on my son’s behalf to inform me of the accident and let me speak to my son to reassure me that he was okay.
I don’t know who these people were that helped but I would like to convey my thanks for helping at the scene, and in particular top the lad who rang me about the accident. Many thanks to you all.
