A TALENTED young girl who defied the odds after being born with heart failure has wowed her family and friends by performing in top ice skating show – Cirque De Noel.
Mia Loynes – and her older sister Helena - secured their place at the festive show in Sheffield and showed off their talents with ambitious spins, jumps and slides on the rink.
Mia was born six weeks prematurely with heart failure and her mum, Lisa Loynes, was told to prepare for the worst.
But the talented youngster underwent life saving treatment at Leeds General Infirmary.
Mrs Loynes, 38, of Ings Walk, South Kirkby, said she is so proud of her daughters.
She said: “To know what doctors had told me when Mia was born to now seeing her doing all of these big jumps on the ice is just amazing.”
Mia, who is a pupil at Moorthorpe Primary School, has only been skating 18 months and performed in the event last year.
She has already entered many competitions and won prizes
Helena, 12, has also entered many competitions and both sisters are hoping to make a career out of ice skating.
