Football fans are being urged to kick domestic violence into touch during this summer’s European Championships.
West Yorkshire Police have teamed up with the Probation Service, NHS and Safer Leeds to launch a major campaign to warn offenders of the destructive effects of domestic violence.
Leaflets and posters will be distributed will take place as part of the campaign.
Victims will be made aware of the help that is available through the police, charities and helplines, and that any abuse from a partner or in a domestic setting should not be tolerated.
Offenders will be warned of the consequences, which can include prison time.
Anyone who is a victim of any form of domestic violence should contact the police on 101 to report an incident which has taken place, or 999 if a person is in immediate danger.
