A youth club that helps children and teenagers has been given a ‘shed’ load of money, thanks to the Asda Yorkshire XDC Community Fund.
The Shed picked up £100 from the fund, which is run in conjunction with the Hemsworth and South Elmsall Express.
The South Elmsall club is attended by around 60 members every week.
It organises a number of events for the children, including a summer barbecue, Christmas parties and concerts and a pie and pea supper.
The money will be put towards buying some items off the club’s ‘wish list’, which includes items such as a new Xbox, Playstation 4, karaoke machine and a dancing arcade machine.
Donna Lamb, who applied for the cash, said: “We have an enormous passion for the youth of these areas because they are ultimately our future.
“We are all about supporting young people and we have built great relationships on trust with our young members.”
The fund gives away £100 to a different community group from the south east every week.
To apply, write to Gemma Jimmison explaining a bit about your group and how the money would be used if you were successful.
Winning groups must be able to get to the Asda Distribution Centre, Elmsall Way, South Elmsall, at 10am on the first Monday of the relevant month.
