Hundreds of Hemsworth youngsters ‘let it go’ at a special event based on the hit Disney film Frozen.
The free event at Tesco in Market Street raised cash for Diabetes UK, the supermarket’s charity of the year.
Characters from the animated film – Queen Elsa and Princess Anna – performed hit songs including Let It Go as excited youngsters sang along.
Children also took part in craft activities including turning a sock into Olaf, the snowman from the film, face painting, fairground rides and a bouncy castle.
Sarah Stabler, a manager at Hemsworth Tesco, said: “It was an absolutely fabulous day.
“It went really well – much better than expected.
“It was a great opportunity for the community to come together and raise money for charity.
“We managed to raise £250 for Diabetes UK and because it was so successful and the demand was so high we’re holding another Frozen event this Saturday.”
The event takes place on Saturday, November 29 at the store. Characters from the film will perform at 10am, 2pm, and 4pm but places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
There will also be craft activities, rides, face painting and a bouncy castle.
