Road plan creates jobs

A NEW roundabout and road infrastructure is set to bring in almost 100 new jobs to the Ferrybridge area.

Wakefield Council is to receive a report at its Cabinet meeting next month on processes to secure £1.34m for a new roundabout at Dish Hill and a multi-fuel generating plant at Ferrybridge.

The move would create 98 new jobs and safeguarding jobs at the existing coal power station and plasterboard plant.

There will be a local consultation over the summer and a start on site is scheduled for next spring, with completion before the end of 2013.
