SPICY fajitas and warm tortillas were on the menu for pupils when they created their own Mexican lunches.
Youngsters from Upton Primary School ventured to Chiquitos at Xscape in Castleford before half term to learn all about the hot cuisine.
The tried lots of different spicy dips to eat with their nachos and then learnt how to create the perfect wrap.
They also got to try their hand at creating their very own fruit cocktails.
Teacher Lauren McGinley said: “Some children were quite cautious at first as it was food that wasn’t familiar to them. But most of them really loved it. I was really proud of them for trying it.”
The visit was part of the school’s world studies – which followed the adventure of Barnaby Bear as he visited Scotland and China. He will go to France after half term.
