CHILDREN got into the rhythm of the drums when they took part in a musical workshop.

More than 100 youngsters from Moorthorpe Primary School enjoyed banging the drums to different beats and even put on a performance at the end of the day to show their parents what they had learnt.

Company Unbeatable Energy came into the school on Regent Street to teach them all about African drumming and dancing.

Teacher Emma Jackson said: “It was absolutely fantastic, all of the children really loved it.”

The visit was part of the school’s Big Wide World Project in which they look at different cultures around the world.
