A PUB is launching a new menu and range of community events after a fire caused it to be closed for more than a year.
The Fox and Hounds, in Thorpe Audlin, is under new management after being reopened by WL Leisure this march.
It was closed since January 2011 when it was seriously damaged by a fire.
But now the new managers, Matt Bailes and Rachael Wrightson, are hoping to put the pub at the centre of community life with quiz nights and special offers for senior citizens .
Mr Bailes, 33 said: “This is a lovely village which deserves a traditional, welcoming local pub that serves the local community.
“Rachael and I are keen to put The Fox and Hounds at the heart of village life and be something that Thorpe Audlin can be really proud of.
“We are offering quality food, great value for money and a friendly atmosphere, and we want the Fox and Hounds to earn a reputation across the region as the place to go for the good old fashioned pub experience.”
The pair are introducing a lunchtime carvery with offers for senior citizens and free meals for children between Monday and Saturday.
